The name APU means “leader” or “chief.” We produce our specialty coffee based on a principle of deep respect and harmony, inspired by the relationship that Indigenous peoples have with the land. It is a mountain coffee grown and processed entirely by hand by its owners, who inherited the craft from their parents and grandparents, guided by a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility..

Our coffee plantations are located at an exceptional altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level on the El Carmelo Farm, situated in the municipality of Teruel, Huila. Taking care at every step of the value chain, we process and roast the coffee using traditional methods at our own certified facility: the Delfín Llanos Thresher and Roaster, also located in Teruel.

We believe that exceptional coffee should heal the land and empower its people. That’s why, on our farm, we’ve protected 50% of the area as a virgin rainforest reserve, which also provides drinking water directly to 100 families in Teruel. Our crops grow in the shade alongside a rich biodiversity of native and fruit trees that provide shelter and food for wildlife. On the social front, we actively promote gender equality ( with 99% female participation in our brick-and-mortar store) and support local education by recognizing students from schools and colleges in Teruel.

We offer exclusive varieties grown with meticulous care, such as Caturra, Yellow Bourbon, Pacamara (Limited Edition), and Gesha (Limited Edition). . In addition, we’re celebrating a decade in the coffee business with our exclusive #10 Anniversary Limited Edition Gesha Kit, which features our Gesha beans processed using three different fermentation methods: Natural, Honey, and Washed..
